Hey guys!
Two weeks until COTR6 and I can already feel Friday night coming! The potluck at the pavilion is the one I look forward to most — the whole crew in one spot, plates full, coolers open, and the good stories starting early. Come hungry and ready to hang!
The basics:
-
Friday, 6:00 PM, at the pavilion
-
Bring a dish you’re happy to share
-
Beer Share: bring a 6-pack of your favorite beer. We’ll ice it down and everybody drinks from the same cooler
-
Tables, water, soft drinks, and plenty of room to spread out are covered
Need a starting point? Last year’s crowd favorites:
-
Ham sandwiches
-
Store-bought dinner rolls
-
Fire-roasted sausage
-
Sliced brisket
-
Gumbo
-
Chili (there is never enough)
-
Fish grilled the same day
-
Jalapeño sliders
-
Dirty rice
-
Tuna salad sandwiches
-
Boiled peanuts
-
Pecan pie
-
Grocery-store fried chicken
Fancy is optional. Edible is the bar.
A few things so you’re not guessing
-
Power is on all day Friday at the pavilion if you’ve got a crockpot or anything else that needs a plug
-
Smoker fires up in the afternoon — queso, poppers, sausage, or whatever else you want thrown on it, bring it
-
Trail runs wrap by 4 PM, and some groups are back around 1 if you want time to get food ready
-
Plates, bowls, utensils, and napkins are covered. You bring the food, a serving spoon if you need one, your 6-pack for the Beer Share, and an appetite
Once dinner winds down, Gamiviti’s Whiskey on the Rocks gets going and the Dissent Off-Road Cornhole Tournament kicks off. The Beer Share cooler stays stocked, Solo Stoves will be lit, and the trash talk usually writes itself.
Saturday night details are next. See you at COTR6!
