Hey guys!

Cruisers on the Rocks 5 is almost here, and trail selection opens later TODAY! Expect a separate email invite to join Sched later this afternoon—keep an eye on your inbox (and spam folder) for this crucial link to sign up for your trail runs and event activities. If you miss the invite email, you can still log into Sched using the email you registered for the event with. Below is everything you need to know to prepare.

Trail Selection with Sched

We’re using Sched as the official platform for all event activities, including trail runs and start times. Use Sched exclusively for all event times, as schedules on cruisersontherocks.com will not be updated. Times may be adjusted during the event, so check Sched regularly for the latest updates. Once you receive your Sched invite email later today (or log in with your registered email), you’ll be able to:

  • View trail descriptions, meet-up times, and locations.

  • Secure a spot by signing up for a trail (you can switch runs up until the start time).

  • Check ratings, meet-up coordinates, and FRS/GMRS radio channels for each trail.

Note: Most trail listings will initially show descriptions only. Meet-up info and radio frequencies will be updated closer to the event.

Pro Tip: For the best experience, use a PC or mobile browser instead of the Sched mobile app, which can be limited. Save the COTR5 Sched homepage to your phone’s home screen for app-like access with full functionality.

Important: Your Sched profile will default to private. Switch it to public so trail leaders and attendees can see your selected trails. Runs with fewer than 3-4 sign-ups may be canceled, and we’ll notify you if this affects your choice.

Park Rules - Strictly Enforced

Windrock Offroad Park has two critical rules that must be followed, as violations can result in ejection from the park:

  • No Alcohol on Trails: Alcohol is strictly prohibited on all Windrock trails. This rule is non-negotiable to ensure safety and compliance with park regulations. Violators risk immediate removal from the park.

  • Speed Limit: You must maintain a 15 mph speed limit on Windrock Park camp roads and around the General Store. Speeding endangers others and can lead to ejection from the park. Drive responsibly to keep the event safe for everyone.

Trail Categories Overview

Check detailed trail descriptions on Sched for specific requirements from trail leaders. All-terrain tires are HIGHLY recommended for all trails, and a full-size spare is a MUST for safety. Here’s a quick breakdown:

  1. Easy Trails

    • Scenic gravel roads with light obstacles (small rocks, washouts) and cool destinations.

    • Suitable for stock 100s and 200s; all-terrain tires recommended for puncture resistance.

    • Note: Body damage is highly unlikely but can occur on any trail, regardless of difficulty. Drivers need to be aware of and prepared to accept this risk.

  2. Moderate Trails

    • Tighter chutes, small rock gardens, ledges, and water crossings.

    • Stock rigs with A/T tires can manage with careful driving; sliders highly recommended. Some trails (e.g., Trail 51) offer easier or harder line options.

    • Note: While unlikely, body damage is possible due to tight sections or unexpected obstacles. Drivers need to be aware of and prepared to accept this risk.

  3. Difficult Trails

    • Intense pinch points, large rock gardens, and tall ledges for built rigs.

    • Mandatory: sliders, 33" tires; recommended: steel bumpers, skids, winch, mud terrains.

    • Note: Body damage and banged-up armor should be expected, and mechanical damage is a possibility. Drivers need to be aware of and prepared to accept these risks.

All trails are led by experienced recovery-savvy leaders familiar with Windrock.

Radio Use

COTR5 is an FRS/GMRS-only event—no CB radios. FRS/GMRS radios are reliable for off-road communication, and FRS doesn’t require a license. Affordable sets ($20-30) are available at Walmart or Amazon, and Baofeng UV-5R radios work too. Each trail will have designated primary and backup channels—test your radio before hitting the trails.

Event Logistics

  • Windrock Park Pass: Ensure everyone in your vehicle has a valid pass.

  • Fuel & Supplies: Gas up before each run and pack lunch, snacks, and drinks.

  • Timing: All official start times for trail runs and event activities are listed on Sched. Trail leaders will hold a short driver meeting before departure and wait a maximum of 30 minutes after the listed meet-up time for stragglers before heading out. Most runs aim to return by 4 PM, though some may run longer. Check Sched regularly for any time adjustments during the event.
