Hey guys!

I wanted to share some details about event camping and a few related items with you. Your Cruisers on the Rockies driver ticket grants you access to primitive camping at event HQ from Monday afternoon through Friday morning. We've got several acres of grassy fields around the Lodge at HQ for camping. It's a beautiful area located at the base of Kendal Mountain, right next to the Animas River. Volunteers will be available at check-in to assist you in finding a spot and ensuring organized parking, whether you're in a tent, RTT, travel trailer, or sleeping in your cruiser. There’s plenty of space, but we want to make sure everyone gets a spot!

Please note that there are no fire rings, tables, or hookups available. If there’s no fire ban, you can have a fire at your campsite as long as you use a firepit (like a solo stove or pop-up fire pit). If a fire ban is in place, using a gas pit might be possible, depending on restrictions. We’ll keep you updated on this as the event approaches. Firewood and propane are available in town at the grocery and hardware stores.

Potable water will be accessible from spigots at the lodge. We’ll have porta-potties at the camping area, and restrooms in the lodge will be available during the day. Public restrooms are also available in Silverton. While there are no showers at the event area, you can find several pay options in Silverton, plus token-operated showers at Molas Lake Campground a few miles south on 550.

Silverton is just a 5-minute walk from camp and offers numerous amenities like restaurants, a small grocery store, coin laundry, and a hardware store. We encourage everyone to explore the town and shop locally for food and supplies when needed. Tuesday evening is designated as "on your own" for meals, so take the opportunity to enjoy a local restaurant or pick up something from the grocery store to cook at camp. Silverton is a small town and relies heavily on summer traffic, and they love seeing groups like ours—they're always super friendly!

Event check-in and camping kick off at 3 p.m. on Monday at the lodge. I'll be there with the Crockies Trail Leaders and our fantastic Crockies volunteers, ready to help with any questions you might have. While this email provides just a glimpse of the details, feel free to join the conversation and ask questions in the Cruisers on the Rocks Facebook Group.

Registration for the Overnight Run opens next week, and we'll send out an email with more details beforehand. Other emails will also be sent out soon with information about daily and nightly activities. Time is flying by, and I can’t wait to see you all in Silverton!
